Fuzzhugger Fx Algal Bloom

  1. You can tag this one! sounds pretty much like the demos. I used BC546C and a B100K for starve, last 3 quarters of the rotation sound exactly the same to me - maybe a smaller value is more usefull. I like it! Thanks for the layout :)

    1. Cool! A 25k or 50k for Starve might work better for a more even sweep?

  2. I'm still pretty new to non-PCB builds and have what's probably a dumb question. Where does starve lug 3 go?

    1. I would guess it's left blank....

    2. Thanks, guess I should have realized it wouldn't hurt anything to leave it blank and then test it.

  3. So about a year ago I couldn't decide between the V1 and the Doom Bloom so I built them both and stuck them both in a BB (because I love torturing myself). Noisy as hell but great sounding. I rebuilt the whole mess to try to improve it a little and used Anders' layouts. I personally love these fuzzes but they're probably not for everyone. I did find that using a battery gave more ideal sound quality and reduced noise a tad.

  4. Just revisiting this circuit, it seems like the 47n is a waste as it's just in parallel with the 100uf .. I looked at a couple other layouts and they all have this as well.

    1. The tagboardeffects version of the V1 is my favorite. It sounds better than the stock version imo.

    2. I have a marvelous Original from Fuzzhugger but I enjoy fooling around with this circuit. I have built that one and gave it to someone and they ended up going down a fuzz path..

    3. That's cool. Personally, mirosol's version sounds perfect. But it's one of my favorites. Good choice for tweaking.
