after triple double checking every single component placement, values, pot wiring, cuts / links, different LM741s and making sure it is identical to the layout, my first attempt still didnt work. even though i was completely positive my board matched this layout 100% i built it again, very slowly and attentive. The second build didnt work as well. No sound at all with random clicking. Just checking in; are you positive this layout is verified? if so, any advice, or tricky components that would make the circuit malfunction and be completely silent with a random click here and there? seems like it would be a grounding issue based on its behavior. fuzzhead you rule!! and ive build at least 20 of your layouts successfully! Im determined to make this work somehow.
Dude, OMG! Can't believe that cut is missing! Checked my build and the cut is there. Add a cut below the lowest cut at the row below the op amp. Layout is updated*facepalm*.
This is an oooooold layout. Wasn't thinking about adding such nifty things as polaity protection and power filtering at the time.:-) This one might need a new layout...
Is this one verified? What schem did you use, if I may ask. Thanks
ReplyDeleteYes, it's verified. Schem can be found here: http://pedalparts.co.uk/docs/GraphicFuzz.pdf
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thank you. I will have to throw it together today. It is a gnarly sounding pedal.
ReplyDeleteHi - on the layout, you’ve labeled the IC as “LM714”... it should be “LM741” . :)
ReplyDeleteAlso it’s actually 17 rows wide
ReplyDeleteGotcha. Updated the layout.

Sweet Victory!!! thanks for clearing that up for me!
DeleteHi, on the picture there are 8 cuts and there is an answer by fuzzhead saying 7 ? I'm confuse :(
ReplyDeleteThere's 8 cuts. I've built the layout as pictured above and it works and sounds good. By the way, thanks for the layout Anders.
