Can't remember if I hit send last night or not, but I built this and it sounds killer. Used a NTE103A for germanium and 2N3904/3906 for silicon triad. Sounds really close to Gish-era Smashing Pumpkins. I may try with higher gain silicons, but as I get older (43) I'm finding that I like lower gain more and more. Also, this cleans up very, very fast with the guitar volume knob. Almost too fast if I've got the levels on the pedal down. Gets a little trebly too if you've got the bass knob low (CCW) when you drop volume on the guitar. Overall though, I think Supro's claim about versatility with this fuzz has been proven for me. Cheers.
Hi, what´s the 100k trimmer for?
ReplyDeleteI´m very interesting in this pedal
Thanks
It sets bias for Q1, Q2 and Q3.
Deleteno, 100k - bias only for Q1, bias for Q2,Q3 - 4k7 from emiter Q3, you should use trimmer 10k there.
