Just finished this one too. Added a treble control by replacing one of the 1,5k resistors with a 5k pot. Works great!

Is the 1N4007 specific for a reason in this case or will a 1N4001 or 1N4002 do?
It looks to be used as a polarity protection diode, so any 1N400x should do. The only difference between the different 400x's is the reverse voltage . On a 9v guitar pedal the differences aren't anything to worry about.
