BJFe Heavy Swede

Now this is an interesting take on the Boss HM-2 circuit...

The schematic speaks for itself.

  1. Has anyone built this yet? And how noisy is it... need a buffer with it?

    1. I've had this on my list for a while but have yet to tackle it since 1) BJ's hand-scribbled schematics mean quite a bit of margin for error in de-bugging, and 2) SIX volt regulator?

  2. You can tag this one. The only query I had versus the schematic was the 1uF capacitor In the top left between rows a and b, c14 in the schematic. On the schematic it looks like it's going to be an electrolytic but in the BOM and the photos of the completed PCB it's a film cap. In the end I used an mlcc, mostly for reasons of space, much to the irritation of my OCD.
I used a P416b for the germanium. Also no 2N1711 so I substituted a BC107a. Sounds nasty, in all the right ways. The various tone controls all have a very wide range.
