A rare bird in the Colorsound range. Some additional mods can be made. Replace the 3,9k resistor with a 10k pot for a Freq control. And try a PNP Germanium for Q1 which smoothens the feel of the formant filter..

ReplyDeleteBuilt this tonight, here's what I found:
ReplyDeleteI didn't have the proper pot, the closest I found was a B20k dual gang, so I tried that. Seems to work ok for the filter sweep, but I imagine the proper pot would be better.
The fuzz pot seems to do absolutely nothing. The only change I was able to get in the level of fuzz was to roll off the guitar volume, which cleaned it up.
The volume isn't very strong. Even at full volume, it's right around unity.
Overall though, it's a cool sound. Gonna take a look another time to see if I messed anything up.
