  3. I don't think this layouts correct. It's missing 9v and gnd wires, but following D5 it's going directly into Q1 and Q2 and not connected to the 100u (which the schematics on the site doesn't do). I haven't looked further than that. I counted 48 cuts too i think.

If you didn't see btw I verified that deluxe muff.

  4. No way! You and I draw the same layouts! :D Well... you draw a lot, so... it's not so shocking. :)

This is the one of mine, with shared hole jumpers and stand up resistors, and with a simple power section because I still didn't understand the original one.
    NOT verified!

  5. Input should go to U1. Blend 1 needs to connect to either Pin 4 or 6 of the series switch, but I'm not sure which. Otherwise I think it's good, but I haven't had a chance to go over the entire schematic yet. Thanks for thr layout!

  6. After taking another look at the schematic and tinkering around with my build, I'm pretty sure Blend 1 needs to connect to pin 4 of the series/blend switch. This is the pin system I'm using, btw...

    1 6
    2 5
    3 4

  7. I think usually the pinout number of the switch is this:
    1 4
    2 5
    3 6
I didn't compare the layout with the schematic but, of course, inverting the top and bottom pins in a column makes the switch not properly working.

    1. 🤦🏻 You're right! I was thinking IC numbering in my head.

Pin config for the DPDT should be...

      1 4
      2 5
      3 6

Connect Blend 1 to Pin 4 and the Series/Blend switch will work correctly.

Also, the cut at P21 needs to be removed. I just jumper'ed over mine, and now it's working perfectly!

  8. I've looked through it. I (think) the following are wrong. Circuit currently won't work as is here.

    Power stage:
1n5817 not crowbared to ground (but prob doesn’t make a difference circuit wise)
-Missing C4 (47u to ground off the second 4.99k).
-why are two extra 100ns added in the power stage (ones parallel with the 47u, the others just to the left one of it)?

    Main circuit:
-Input not labelled (row U left side?)
-Gain B 1 connects to the 1K resistor but it doesn’t connect to the rest of the circuit (the cut in P21 needs to be removed)
-Gain pots wired backwards? 1s should be 3, and 1&2 should be 2&3s?
-Blend switch 6 missing (should go to blend 1)

  9. Gain 2&3 should be 1&2 I meant

  10. I didn't compare this layout with the schematic, I don't know if I'll do later, if you find useful you could try to compare this layout with the layout of mine, though it's unverified, too, but I checked it well.

    Anyway:
    - no matter about 1N5817, as you said.
    - It's true there are two 100nF caps in parallel in the power section. I don't know why some circuit are two kind of same caps in parallel rather having just one doubled, but this have them.
    - I think the Gain pot should be connected like you see in this layout (also I did it): Gain 1 and Gain 2, 3. Because when the Gain pot is set to zero you got zero resistance and low gain setting; when the pot is set to ten you increase the resistance so the gain, in this circuit.
    - The Series/Blend switch has, indeed, one lug unused, but the numbering depends from the pinout you're following. (I didn't check this layout, in case some wires are swapped for mistake. Look my layout, that should be right, and directly the schematic, even if it hasn't the switch numbering to help us).

    1. Though the schematic shows the 100nF's next to each other, they may be filtering different op amps on the real board. I know this has been the case on VFE builds.

    2. Somethings not right with gain and tone pot wiring though. If gains right then tones wrong.....they're laid out exactly the same in the schematic but gains are labelled 1, 2&3 and tones are 1&2, 3 here. I'm sure ones wrong.

The cut in P21 def needs to go. The two 1Ks should be joining up to each other, otherwise Gain B 1 is wired to nothing.

The two 100ns look like they may be from the vref section top right of the main schematic actually, think it might be ok, but there's still a 47u missing for the power stage section (the smaller schematic).

I suppose someones gonna have to make the thing and see.....

    3. gain and tone both work fine on my build per the layout. also added the missing 47u cap from the power section to Q26-V26. didn't make a noticeable difference to the sound.

    4. What do you think of it, hit or miss?

    5. I dig it. wish the series mode was a little more dynamic, but there's still a nice range of tones you can get out of it.

    6. Wow, guys, thanks for bringing this to life. I have removed a cut and added the missing power filter cap.
So I guess I should tag it as verified then?

    7. also needs a connection from Blend 1 to Pin 4 on the Series/Blend switch. otherwise, tag it! and thanks for the layout :)

    8. Cheers!
Notes is added and it is now tagged.

  11. Thanks guys, one that I've been looking forward to for a while. Didn't have 2n4401 and 2n4403's so used 2n3904 and 2n3906.... and it works well maybe better when I get the proper transistors.

  12. Oh yeah one more thing ... it's 27 links you've got 27 cuts. no biggy.

  13. With the 4401 and 4403 put in this pedal is truly amazing... thanks once again.
