Hey Fuzzhead, I know the "Civil War" BMP never actually came with carbon comps and all, but think there's a possibility of making a mojo layout of one of those in the not so distant future? Cause that would be incredible, but totally understand if you're busy. Maybe I should just use one of your already made layouts and substitute in the "Civil War" Muff values.
Sure, I can do that, just give me a couple of days. But I have two types of templates for Big Muff mojo layouts. One is wide, like in this post: https://dirtboxlayouts.blogspot.com/2021/03/electro-harmonix-v2-big-muff-rams-head.html And one square shaped, like this: https://dirtboxlayouts.blogspot.com/2020/11/electro-harmonix-v1-triangle-big-muff.html
Omg dude you're amazing. I really like your more wide rectangular layout. Thank you soooo much, I know you don't get paid to do this or anything, so I really really appreciate it
Since there are already a mojo template it was a quick job. The Civil War/Tall Font layout is here: https://dirtboxlayouts.blogspot.com/2019/06/electro-harmonix-sovtek-russian-big-muff.html
Hey man, so I finally was able to build this thing, and did the layout twice. With each build audio is super quiet and the effect seems sputtery and a bit gated. Not sure if you had a chance to build this layout yourself yet but I'm honestly a bit stumped. Everything looks correct on my end so far. Any suggestions or pointers?
Ok so got to mess with the effect more but now the tone and volume dont seem to function properly.Volume is basically all or nothing, and the tone control doesnt seem to do a thing even with the toggle switch in either position. Ill have to do a little more debugging perhaps. Have you experienced this as well? Hoping maybe I just goofed somewhere.
Thanks so much. You are seriously one of the kindest interweb strangers lol. I'll definitely make a cut there tonight after work and try this out. Appreciate everything you do here!
That did the trick! Thank you! Also, thank you for all the work you put into these layouts. I know it's not easy, and is for sure a labor of love on your part. I know I sound like a broken record, but I appreciate it sooooo much.
Awww shucks look what you did, now I'm gonna have to build this! Lol

Which one do you prefer?

ReplyDeleteYes, I think I have a solution for it. The leftmost link seem to be the culprit. Move the bottom connection at R2 down one row to S2.
DeleteWell homie, that was it! Sounds killer now! You can tag it verified if you have time to edit this layout in Eagle or whatever you prefer to use.
DeleteAwesome!
DeleteThe layout is corrected and tagged.

DeleteI added a cut at F19 at the horizontal 47ohm resistor. See the updated layout above. This should solve your issues with the tone and volume controls.
