All right, got it built. Everything works except the switch, it's good in only 1 position. The overall output is less than unity. That sad pile of resistors reads at 2.1Ω. It's 5 x 10Ω.
I've done some researsch and it seems that originals barley reach unity level. One solution could be to build a small daughterboard with a clean booster after volume control. Which position of the switch cutting out the sound?
Ole Eagle-Eye Anders... That did the trick. Tag this one verified. That other switch position is the higher gain setting. Wow! Really adds some punch. Cool effect.
I want to give this one a shot, I ordered these ferrite beads from Tayda.

It's the only value they had with leads. Will these work or will I need something else?
Yes, these will work just fine. looking forward to hear how the build turns out.

And ideas? I've only been at this stuff for like a year. I couldn't find a schematic.

The 2-3 5-6 position is the one not working. The switch checks out on the DMM just fine.
ReplyDeleteGoing by this numbering.
1 4
2 5
3 6
By looking at your pictures...are you sure you haven't mixed up switch lugs 4 and 5? (nice looking board btw)

DeleteThanks, man.
Awesome! I'll tag it right away!
DeleteIs there a schematic available anywhere?

DeleteNote that the schematic has an extra FET transistor at the output. Original pedal doen't have it.
Thanks!
