Thanks for the other layouts man. Ima fonna give this one a whirl as its a fav. Any chance you could do a dedicated velvet fuzz? Also the Aion Website has a newer version of the seymour duncan pickup booster which might seem quite steamy xx
I have serious reasons to believe the coupling cap going to Gain 3 is actually 470pf not 47pf. The value for the cap that gets activated by the bass switch should be 2.2nf not 220pf. Probably as mistake from the guy who originally traced it.
A later version of the pedal (previous to the latest "mini" version) has both capacitors as 1nf.
I personally like 470pf for the "thinner" mode and another 470pf for the bass switch. The original 2.2nf value was just too bassy and muddy for any real use, IMO.
Yep - you can verify it with the changes I said. Works and sounds just like the demos! Nice Marshall sound!
I was able to make it with 20k trimmers and get a very sensible adjustment for bias. For now I got all of them at 4.5V, but I will research what is recommended and experiment!
Thanks, "Eagle Eye" Pedro! The layout is updated and tagged. I found a retundant cut under one of the trimpots. It is removed so it is back to 17 cuts;-)
It was luck xD, I spotted it when installing. Anyway, this one sounds really great, having lots of fun with it! I like Wampler's stuff and I learned quite a lot with his PG articles on modding well known pedals. I don't know if there is a schematic, but I would love to see the layout for the Leviathan Fuzz xD .
Leviathan is very high on my list to do! Sadly, no schematic or trace online(yet). But the guts looks very interesting...a few op amps and germanium diodes.

Funny that you requested Velvet Fuzz. Just finished a layout of it this morning and will upload it tonight.
DeleteI'll take a look at SD Pickup Booster.

Thanks for headsup. it seems that I choosed the wrong schematic since other ones specified 470pF indeed, in place of 47pF.
DeleteThis looks promising, and I am going to build it, but I think I can spot a couple of mistakes (unless I am reading wrong schematics):
ReplyDelete- There is a cut missing on the left of Q2 Drain, making it 18 cuts.
- the 47uF and 1K to ground should be moved to Q2 Source (and not on Q2 Gate).
Well, here I go!

DeleteDoes anyone know how to add the mids toggle as on the Mini Plexi Drive?
