Wow, what a hidden jewel of a circuit. Definitely "what a Muff Fuzz should sound like" - or at least how I wanted my other muff fuzzes to sound. I am so tempted to box this into a Big Muff for absurd sustain - just have to decide which one xD. Thank you for this layout, now I am eager to try the other two Wizards :)

Could not agree more!! Just built this one and it sounds great!
ReplyDeleteLoads of sustain, loads of different tones.
It really reacts well to your guitar volume too, if you play it clever you can get from a warm overdrive to a nice saturated fuzz.
It's a little bright for my tastes, but I'm sure I can experiment a little to draw out a bit more bass.
But that is just my preference. This thing sounds great.
This website is costing me a fortune...
I can't figure out what I've done wrong with this one! It works but it's whisper quiet - barely audible.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty excited about this pedal so I may just have another go
I did have another go - and it worked!
ReplyDeleteA nice drive. The sort of sensible pedal that ends up on your board.
(I used C500k for the fuzz, because that's what I had. The sweep seems to be ok👍)

ReplyDeleteFinally got round to putting a linear pot in here - much better. This is such a great hidden secret distortion
