This page has the original schematic that the one linked above is based on. Some helpful photos as well.

  6. Verified! I might play increase the value of R12,2.2K, which is in series with the repeats. If you max out repeats, it goes to oscillation, which may or may not be a good thing. All knobs function as labelled. Thank you Anders!

  7. I have had some time to play with this. I wasn’t satisfied with the warble effect and I looked up the peddle this is based on, the Hamlet. It’s a bit different, but I imagined functions similarly. The S/N was not great, though I see that Aleph Null has a V2 which turns off the pt2399.

I picked up a Strymon El Capistan while traveling and brought it home to compare, which is apples and oranges, night and day, etc. of course. That Strymon is a nice pedal!
My observation is that the preamp section of this circuit is weak, which makes the warble and repeats sound distorted. However, throw some gain in front, and this pedal comes to life.
In my earlier post, I noted oscillations past noon on repeats. I tested several chips, and left the best sounding in, but it can still oscillate. This could be dialed in for sure!
