hey Fuzzhead, what's the best way to offer a request? There's an interesting CD4007 drive in Chuck's Boneyard from a while back that I'd never be able to fit in a stomp box: https://forum.pedalpcb.com/attachments/cmos-overdrive-deluxe-sch-rev-1-1-png.25550/
Couple of points for anyone interested, or those that have tried the original pedal. It's hellishly loud. Much louder than The Jack. The cut knob doesn't have much of an effect until the last 3rd of its rotation, at which point it rolls off a lot very quickly. It's a very bright pedal, which i'd expect for something Voxy, so don't be surprised at having the treble at 9 and the cut at 3 (works in reverse) to get unity(ish) tone.
Just built the Copper - great layout, as always, Fuzzhead! Quick question... it looks like the horizontal 220K resistor at B15-B18 is 100K on the PedalPCB schematic. Any reason why you switched this value, or am I just reading the schematic incorrectly?

ReplyDeleteThx for this layout!
ReplyDeleteAny chance for the Sheriff V1?
Will definitely do a layout for when the schematic floats up...
DeleteThx fuzzhead!

DeleteJust watched the That Pedal Show demo of this and the knob positions were almost exactly how I'd set them. Think it's pretty perfect then :-)
DeleteDoes sound like the Cut knob might benefit from a B taper pot if the A has all the action pushed to the end of the rotation
DeleteI'd like to put in a request for this modified version of the EHX Bass Balls Envelope Filter, seems interesting!
ReplyDeleteVoilà!

Forgot to include the link! I've built that version, now I would like to try out this modified version with a few more bells and whistles included.

Is it verified ? Still indicated as unverified in the labels under the layout.
ReplyDeleteYes it is verified. It just hasn’t been tagged yet. I’ve made two and it’s perfect to the original as far as I can tell.
DeleteGreat! have you tried the B taper for the cut knob as mentioned by Orion?
ReplyDeleteI haven’t yet, no, but it would probably work better than the A taper so I’d give it a go.

ReplyDeleteI used a LT1054 instead of the 1044, Much Less noise and no whine. Sounds amazing!
