Found this in an older folthe usuader that I forgot. Includes some necesarry modernazations like true bypass, onbard charge pump, input and output caps and pulldown resistors.

Just wondering what the diode is? I cant seem to find the information for it anywhere
ReplyDeleteIt's just polarity protection - 1N5817 or 1N400x is fine
DeleteHve built this but getting no sound or a ground buzz. The LED works fine haha. No bridges or any of the usual suspects used a 4007 diode and 2n5087 for Q1&Q2
ReplyDeleteSo i noticed 1 component had a leg in the wrong spot. D'oh! Now i get a fuzzy sound but not what it should be. May need to try some new ics and Q1&Q2
DeleteShould pin 4 of my ICs read 0V? Currently IC1 and IC2 (4558) are -8.38V and IC3 (max1044) is -4.2V. Pin 8 on all is about 8.65V.
