Mark it! It works great with one edit: The 56k resistor in the top left needs to be moved from D4 to C4 to connect to +9v. Looking forward to boxing this one up!
Jesus, that's insane. I just received chips from Banzai myself for a Ce-2. I hadn't seen that they had them and tried Ebay. Fakes, luckily I was refunded.
You can also try a coolaudio v3207 - under 10v the performance differences are supposedly negligible. 3207 are readily available and much cheaper. You do have to swap the 9v and ground connections as well as the pin 4+5 resistors, but it's doable.
I'm in the states so I get it through https://stompboxparts.com/semiconductors/v3207d-bbd-ic/ $4 a piece and they're genuine. They're one of the few BBD chips in new production so they're readily available with much lower chance of counterfeits. Here's a 3207 - 3007 perf conversion too http://effectslayouts.blogspot.com/2018/09/mxr-micro-chorus.html?m=1
Built this with a 3207, I reversed pins 1 and 5, should I do something else? I have sound, the mix and volume controls work and the rate led works too but I have no modulation.
hi! having issues with this build, at firts it didnt work, like it doesnt do the effect it suposed to. Then I revised the schematic and found some errors. the capacitors in columns 30 and 25 are reversed (mine burnt), mix 3 should be mix 2, and the 10k resistor should be in this path, and therefore mix 2 should be mix 3 without the 10k (easy fix, ommited bypass led and used that space to change the components). The thing is after those changes, I dont know if the mn3007 or the cd4047 burnt, cause still doenst work. the rest of the schematic is spot on
Yikes, that's not good. Make sure your power supply didn't short. Also, your power protection diode is now probably fried so that'll kill power to the whole circuit.
Thanks Anders! This pedal sounds awesome. I compared to the EHX small clone, and, while this one has more controls, the schematics are nearly identical. Rate 1 should be rate 3, but other than that, all controls work well and have a very usable sweep.

ReplyDeleteAnyone know where to get a MN3007
ReplyDeleteI think Smallbear still stocks them.
DeleteCheers Tom, they do indeed. $16 for the chip and $28 shipping, I think I will make a CE-2 instead - Lol

Yeah, I'm in the US as well. Thanks OT.

DeleteI still haven't solved my problem but R24 should be 10k (6.8k at column 3)
