Oh, interesting design. I will build it to check that comprehensive eq/tone section. There is also an improved version in the Freestompbox thread, which I'd be curious to try.
Yes, the updated layout is the stock circuit. I can do a layout for the modified version but we need to decide which resistor values we need for R1 and R2. https://www.freestompboxes.org/download/file.php?id=39340&mode=view
Thank you so much, Fuzzhead! I was on the verge of building it tonight, but I would be glad to get less thermal noise from the circuit (if the original poster experienced a noisy pedal).
Hello, On the second schematic posted on the forum (https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=31576), I see two 220pF capacitors, and no 100pF cap. Maybe I'm missing something?
Fuzzhead, not sure how to contact you? I have a request for a flanger, which I noticed you don’t have. I made a nice clear schematic, if you’re interested.
Hello, You can tag it as verified : I built it and it works fine! It's a very nice overdrive pedal with an interesting eq section. The only thing is that some knob action seems reversed, but I might have to check my wiring ;) Thank you once again for the excellent layout : compact while not too busy, clearly laid out, with a nicely laid out wires.
Hello, I swapped the connections of the 1 & 3 lugs for the tilt (tone) pot and put the bridge on lugs 1 & 2 (instead of 2 & 3) for the character pot, and now it works perfectly :) Thank you!
There's a mistake in the schematic, it's been update.
ReplyDeleteThe layout needs to change something around the Bright pot.
The layout is now updated, following the uptaded schematic.:-)
DeleteExcellent!
DeleteThank you, Fuzzhead!

If I understand correctly, the updated layout is the "original" version, not the one with the suggested mods?

It seems that with R1=47k and R2=4.7k, we'd gain around +18dB of gain... how does it sound?
DeleteI'll add an additional modified layout with your suggested values tonight.:-)

Yes, it used to be a 100pF and now it is a 220pF. Layout is updated.

ReplyDeleteI agree that a "suggestions" topic might be a nice place, eh eh :)

Fuzz thank you so much for the great layouts. In case do you have crazy tube Falcon layout?
ReplyDeleteThanks a million
I'm afraid not, haven't seen a schematic for that one yet.:-/
