I recently got this pedal and I´m also interested in finding ways to mod this circuit (or build it "better"). Can you tell us what schematic you´re referring to, Anders? I think there´s a lot of potential, two basic circuits I like (Rat, SD-1)...
I'm using this schematic. https://0x4c.files.wordpress.com/2018/10/os-2_orig.png
And here is another guy https://electric-safari.com/2018/10/05/boss-os-2-overdrive-distortion-mod/
Hold on with this layout for a moment. I'm not too happy about how it came out. I will start on another one from scratch. I will give a shout when the new layout is uploaded.
Thanks a lot, Anders! I guess after I tried your version I will opt for something closer to "original" rat with the according IC. Maybe paired with a Lovepedal Eternity to get rid of the buffer and get even better response/clean-up with the volume-pot.
Is this verified?
ReplyDeleteNo, it is still tagged "Unverified".
DeleteIs there a (somewhat) official schematic for this?

The new layout is now upladed...

ReplyDeletethank you for this layout, it looks really elegant!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm very happy to find it here!
it also looks reasonable! (!!!) (not too difficult)
36 cuts is still viable... and the width is 21, so it can fit a 1590b...
beautiful, elegant layout...
thanks for working on it so much! not being content with the previous version (which I haven't seen) :)
now it's our turn to make it! :)
as to 2sk30 replacements:
I've found this advice:

Question, are the 1,2 and 3 connections for the potmeters ?
ReplyDeleteI want to build it, but that's the only thing not entirely clear to me.
I also do not see a "level 2", which is supposed to go to output ?
ReplyDeleteYes, those are the potentiometer lugs. There's a note under the layout designating level 2 as effect output.
