Had a few days off from work this week, mini staycation. Haven't built any stripboards in a while so I thought I would give this one a go. Kinda surprised no one has built it yet. @Fuzzhead , you can tag this one. I believe everything works as should. I don't have it boxed up yet but I still have a couple more days off. I used BAT41 for the diodes. I may play with the MP35s a little bit. I just threw a couple in that I had. Didnt check HFE but I may explore that a little more. Thanks for this one. I have been holding off on it for to long.
I’ve heard that some people have had trouble with the gate if you don’t get the MP35s just right. I must have got lucky. Gate worked perfect the first try.
This was a pain to construct, but rewarding. If you like gated fuzz, this is a nice one. Flexible and punchy. I can't really figure out what the dip switches are controlling.
So according to the GBE teardown, 1-on and 2,3-off=True Bypass. 1-off and 2,3 on=Buffered brypass. For anyone interested. I didn't use the stock germs. I'll try them when and if I get some. But I like this fuzz quite a bit. One thing that is interesting is the Clean function is boosted it seems so it actually adds some whack to the signal. Pretty cool beanz. Thanks as always for the sexy layout.
