hi i've done your layout with some changes, i used the schematics from fsb https://www.freestompboxes.org/download/file.php?id=19399&mode=view i don't if yours is newer the changes i've made 1. replaced the 100uf cap with a 220uf 2. replaced the diode with a 10ohm resistor ( i used a 1n4001 diode fom 9v to ground with reverse polarity next to the 4.7nf) 3.swapped the 1k resistor from Gain 1 to ground with a link. 4.i skipped the 1uf from Q3 source to ground. it works great when biased correctly. Thank you fuzzhead for the layout.
Thanks for verifying! Upated the layout with some of changes to match the schematic which seems to be the latest trace. Omitted 1uF cap at Q3 and replaced 1k resistor with a jumper(although it doesn't hurt to have it there....) Still, I left the protection diode in per old layout since series diode protection is way more....protective and it won't affect the performance of the circuit. Upped 100uF to 220uF but both should work fine.
I know those are minor changes and I think that the old layout would have worked fine but I wanted to stick to the last schematic. Keep up the good work !
