  1. Build it, but is only working with bias from 2 to full. Any ideas? Crappy transistors?

    1. Yeah, you try other transistors since the sweep of the bias pot should be larger. Are you using 2N1711's?

  2. Yes, voltages are q1 2,46 0,6 0,05 q2 3,95 2,46 1,82. just wanted to be sure that there is no other problem before buying new transistors

  3. Just made this one, sounds killer! I flipped the Q2 180 degrees by accident but that also sounds ace! (more overdrive-ish)

  4. the tone know seems reversed (full brightness at min and no treble at max, also quite silent), but checking the schematics it seems correct. Anyone else experienced this?

  6. hey all, thank you for this massive load of layouts on this blog, really saved my as* during covid! thanks !!!
one question about this DirtTransmitter-Layout, what do i have to change/switch/twist, to use this layout as germanium fuzz? i prefer usually prefer germanium to silicon and would love to try a germanium version
thanks in advance, this community rules!! cheers from Köln/Cologne, Germany

    1. Just socket some germ. transistors and see how they sound. The Bias knob will take care of Q2, and the only other change may be the 22K resistor to Q1 collector but I doubt you will need to change it.
