  1. Just to let you know , you can tag this one. It sounds like all the videos I’ve heard. I used AC128 for the germs and a 1N270 for the diode. I built t to use on bass after seeing one on Justin Chancellor’s board. Built the Color Sound Bass Fuzz also. Can’t decide which one I like more. As always , many thanks for all you do for the DIY community.

  2. @fuzzhead. I’m wanting to build either an MK lll or lV with Vol, fuzz and a bias pot. All germanium. Do you have any pointers? Basically like this one without tone control and a bias control.

    1. I'm afraid the layout have to be reworked if you want a useful bias control. For the tone control....which setting to you want. Full bass, full Treble or at noon?

But have you ever heard of Burns Buzzaround (and its mad italian cousin Elka Dizzytone)?

The "Balance" control is technically a bias control but it sort of works as volume control as well. And it is easy to get rid of the tone control (labelled "Timbre")and choose your desired fixed tone setting. I use mine on the bass side all the time and it really thick and heavy. The Treble side....not so much...

  3. I would probably go for a noon / flat tone setting but I will check out the Burns and maybe give that a try. Thank my friend.
