  2. Tag it, man! It's perfect. Not a big Muff fan, myself, but love this one and Pharao. Just forget about 2N5089: BC184C all the way! And thank you, very much! Keep shinning!

    1. Thanks Dragao, Thanks for verifying this. Planning to build this with KT3102 transistors soon.

  3. Forgot to ask: 8 links up there?...

    1. Yes, 8 links it is.
BTW, almost done with King of Tone based on a schematic from a unit dated 2018.
It think it will end up with two separate boards for each channel...

  4. Yo! I just built this and the focus knob is incredibly subtle (if anything is happening). I am building this for bass - would increasing the 1uf to something else make it more apparent (specifically for bass)? If so do you have any suggestions? I assume focus is shifting between the 10nf and 1uf so I am just guessing changing those would make it more useful.

    Thanks a ton!

    1. You might have an issue with component placement and wiring close to the Focus pot. It is not subtle at all. CCW it is bassy and quite doomy, CW is much tighter and brighter with distortion qualities.

  6. After living with this fuzz a while I grew dissatisfied with some of the sounds I was getting. Pushed it aside and moved on. I tried lots of transistor combinations but ultimately I wound up giving the Blunderbuss a shot. It’s very aggressive and more mid pushed and it strays into metal distortion. So if someone in the future is keen to try this and it doesn’t blow them away try the Blunderbuss. It’s living in the Musket enclosure now. Hopefully I won’t come back in a couple months with a changed mind.

  7. Still in love with my Blunderbuss. Revisited the Musket and found a flaw. Fixed it and it sounds as it should. Man Blackout never lets you down. So great. Oh, no idea why I thought 1n60's were germ. Threw a 1n34a in my Blunderbuss some time ago. What a great fuzz pedal.
