That´s the way to earn money! All it takes is Josh praising your rip-off on his channel (in one or two sentences, make a mystery out of it and everybody is interested!) Not even that good sounding, in my opinion...but a good one to boost a Meathead or something like that (See Fuzz&Burn)!
It's nothing special. There's something about that old COT50 that I built though. Some hidden pixie dust. Sometimes the simplest circuits can be magic. I hold that it's hard to beat a good Fuzz Face.
Pretty cool ! i did not know that a Cot50 style circuit could be such gainy ! It's very similar to a mid-power fuzz face, even if it cleans a little less good. For a little more mid-focussed sound, put a 1,5nF cap from input to ground and sub the 33nF output cap by 22nF. I also sub the tansistor for a BC107B (400HF) for a softer/rounder sound.
I'm digging the sound of this one quite a bit. Very dynamic. But I'm getting this hiss when the volume on the guitar is all the way down. Here's a sound clip: http://sndup.net/qm7j
Is this a known issue, or is there something messed up with my build? Here's a photo of the inside: https://ibb.co/qJsYQKy
I'm using the off board wiring from the tagboard site and a shielded wire for the input jack.
They say the Golden Fleece was inspired by what is essentially a giant Himilayan yellow haired goat. They should have called it that.
ReplyDeleteI'd buy that for a dollar. Verified. Sounds nice. Now maybe I can find a Mythos enclosure for 190 US to put it in.
ReplyDeletelol.
DeleteAnd the quickest verification ever...
Swap the clippers for BAT41's and you've got the mythos Highroad too.
ReplyDeleteand if you change from the red llama the 9V supply resistor 560R from 1K and the filter cap 100uF from 330uF you got the chupacabra. Magic.
DeleteYep, easy to get to a Dandrive Tweedy with a couple of changes too.

ReplyDeleteProbably not much merit building this if you've made a special Cranker 🤔
